Terms of Use
Last updated: November 1, 2026
These terms are the simple rules for using OccupationEx. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Free to use
OccupationEx is free for students, teachers, schools, and anyone else who wants to learn about careers. There are no ads and nothing to buy. Coins and items in the game are pretend and have no real-world value.
Who can use it
OccupationEx is made for high school and early college students. If you're under 13, only play with a parent's or teacher's permission, and play as a guest or use a nickname. See our privacy policy for how information is handled.
For learning, not professional advice
Lessons, quizzes, and simulations are simplified to help you explore careers. They are not medical, legal, financial, or career advice, and they don't train or qualify you to do any job. The people, companies, and numbers inside the simulations are made up. Pay, schooling, and job outlook come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and can change over time, so check current sources and talk to a counselor before making big decisions.
Your account and nickname
- Use a nickname, not your full real name. Don't put personal details in your nickname or feedback.
- Keep nicknames and feedback respectful. No bullying, hate, threats, or inappropriate content.
- Only use class codes your teacher gives you, and don't try to see other players' private information.
- Don't try to break, overload, or hack the site, or cheat on class boards.
We may remove nicknames, class board entries, or accounts that break these rules. You can delete your own account at any time in Settings → Privacy → Delete my account.
Content and ownership
The game, its design, lessons, and logo belong to OccupationEx. Teachers may use OccupationEx and its teacher guide in their classes, and may print or share materials with their students. Please don't copy the game or sell its content.
Career data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET is public information from the U.S. government.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep OccupationEx accurate and running, but it's provided "as is." We can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that saved progress can never be lost. To the extent the law allows, OccupationEx isn't responsible for losses that come from using the site. If you spot a mistake, please tell us so we can fix it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the site grows. If we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Questions? Email hello@occupationex.org.
